Truth About the Old South – A Case for African American Exceptionalism

My ebook is a lengthy, accurate, factual, American history ebook with social commentary, written from a conservative perspective not encountered in slavery or Old South scholarship. Don't pay attention to the one-star ratings from liberal people who received free ebooks but did not read them.

Truth About the Old South – A Case for African American Exceptionalism is:

Pro-American. Being an American is 10 times more important than race. The USA was the best place in the world to be a slave … and then freed person … and now a citizen. Less than 400,000 slaves were brought to the USA, but now there are 45,000,000 African Americans. This is the opposite of genocide.

Supportive of the Inclusive Rule of Law and Blacks’ central position in making the Constitution more inclusive.

A good number of slavery scholars were Marxists or leftists. This ebook is Pro-Capitalism and against state slavery, GULAGS, communism, socialism, totalitarian governments, convict leasing, and massive incarceration.

Pro-Christianity & Pro-African American. The New Testament urges we have a “Servant’s heart.”  The slaves were hard-working, sober, spiritual, law-abiding, safe, non-violent, productive, congenial, fun-loving, and good people.

This ebook takes stands against Victimhood and Slave Reparations.

Evidence in the Ebook

Federal Writers’ Project Slave Narratives; 400 former slaves quoted … their names in bold throughout the ebook.

Good things about Old South, religion, “good ole days,” music, dances, food, security, hunting, fishing, quiltings, log rollings, corn shuckings

·      Majority liked or loved their former owners; personal race relations

·      Necessity of corporal punishment and abhorrence of prison

·  Had to work hard: Early labor movement in the USA started when industrial workers in the North worked 72 hours per week

Bad things about emancipation without land or education, Jim Crow, convict leasing, and especially the generation of African Americans born and raised after Emancipation.

Union Generals in charge told freed people to return to their plantations and make deals with former owners. There were 3 holocausts associated with American slavery, but not the slavery itself.

Time on the Cross – The Economics of American Negro Slavery (1974) found slaves had good or adequate food, clothing, shelter, healthcare; that cruelty was exaggerated; and that slaves consumed 88% of their own economic production.

In 1854, Boston Abolitionist Dr. Nehemiah Adams traveled South for his health, expecting cowed down miserable slaves … and was astounded how happy, well-dressed, and well-behaved the slaves were. His book, A South-Side View of Slavery, was published in 1855, and could have defused much anger about slavery if more had read it.

You will enjoy 230+ photos, paintings, artwork, maps; no paperback is likely because it would cost over $51.00 to publish a paperback with all the color photos, paintings, etchings, and maps.

To establish credibility, African Americans are my authorities: I quote Booker T. Washington, Frederick Douglass, WEB DuBois; multiple Black abolitionists; 5 modern Black Conservatives: Thomas Sowell, Shelby Steele, Walter Williams, Jason Riley, John McWhorter

Exaggerated fiction about slavery is over 200 years old, since before Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Now, the Roots miniseries and The Underground Railroad on Amazon Prime blow things way out of proportion. Sexual exploitation is what makes folks the maddest, but it was not as common as supposed.

CRT, BLM, 1619 Project are critiqued and criticized, with some credit given to them.

Slavery happened. We cannot change the past, only understand it. I am not in favor of a return to slavery, in fact I would like to liberate some of the New Age slaves in U.S. prisons right now or at least give them jobs in the private sector.

African Americans are at top of the African Diaspora in terms of:  Accomplishments, wealth, education, fame, making the law more inclusive, creation of music, domination of sports, on and on today …. And as winners.
